Greetings all,

The first Geek Walks event will be on Saturday 5th May and will involve 
a train to Entwistle, followed by a walk around Wayoh Reservoir and then 
a pub lunch at the Strawberry Duck. The path is fairly level most of the 
way round - this is a stroll rather than a hike and you shouldn't need 
any equipment other than shoes you are comfortable walking in.

Train details:

Meet up: Manchester Victoria station at the Victoria Station Approach 
entrance (where all the taxis are - not the entrance next to the 
Metrolink tracks) at 10:45.

Outward train: 11:00 to Entwistle (direct). Also goes via Salford and 
Bolton if you want to join us en-route.

Return train: 17:17 to Manchester Victoria (direct), again via Salford 
and Bolton. Gets back at 17:53.

The simplest ticket is probably an off-peak day return, which is ?6 
according to the Virgin Trains website, and you can use it on any train 
there and back.

The event is open to all, so please feel free to forward this mail to 
other lists and invite anyone who you think may be interested.
